Heidegger on Nihilism, Nietzsche, and the Academy
A lecture to the Palladium Magazine reading group in Austin, TX
Hi all,
Last month, I gave a talk on Heidegger on Nihilism, Nietzsche, and the Academy. The lecture covers Heidegger’s Rectoral Address, “The Self-Assertion of the German University”; his essay, “Nietzsche’s Word: God is Dead”; and his post-war defense of his political actions, “The Rectorate 1933/34: Facts and Thoughts.”
Many thanks to the group’s organizer, Andrew O’Brien, and Palladium Magazine for hosting, recording, and posting the talk, and to the group’s participants for the stimulating conversation afterwards (not recorded).
Enjoy,
Alex
And in case you’re wondering what was hanging on the wall above my head, just out of frame:
Speaking of nihilism and psychosis too it seems to me that the Orange Oaf is the world's principal "living" example of such.
He is quite obviously a religiously and culturally illiterate nihilistic barbarian, a pathological liar and a life-long professional grifter/con-man, and now, even an extortionist as demonstrated in his demand that media companies and universities pay him what is essentially ransom money to prevent him from attempting to destroy them
With reference to the book After Virtue he does not have one iota of virtue in his bone spurs.
He is also a leading edge vector of the Wetiko Psychosis as described here.
